Watch 5 does cant say about others
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No Smartwatch (Samsung, Apple, Garmin, etc) in the US will be able to measure your Blood Pressure. (We recently removed that under our spec sheet to reflect this to avoid confusion) Due to current FDA regulations, that feature is not currently allowed. Although some models are advertised as such internationally (such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch5) that technology has not been approved in the US, and would be disabled here in the US. Technically, the BP sensor is included in every model of the Galaxy Watch5, but since the FDA has yet to approve "Pulse Wave Analysis" over standard compression systems like the Withings BPM Connect or the Omron Series, the Samsung Health App will disable that feature for any US user. Some countries do not even allow the ECG/EKG feature, so in those areas, the app would also disable that sensor. That, however, is approved here in the US. Overseas, such as in the Gulf region or the UAE, Samsung users can indeed use the BP feature included, and once the FDA approves the sensor in the US, the app would be updated to allow the sensor to function. As a quick background, I have been a healthcare worker for 10 years and was recently recruited as a Virtual Expert for Best Buy.
