• You can use the unit by itself without having your phone with you and playback music you have loaded on it, works great, however it does the battery a bit more.

• Yes you can load the music directly to the watch and can leave the phone behind the music will continue to play I use it in conjunction with my Samsung gear circle Bluetooth.
