“How do you increase the intensity/duration of the vibration when you receive a text or email. As is, very weak. Being deaf, my main reason for purchasing the watch was to alert me to a text or email that I can't detect while my phone is in my pocket.”

In settings you can set vibration to either "light" or "strong". But it also appears you can set settings for types of vibrations for certain notifications. I suggest playing around with those settings to see what might work best.
