Yes. Works great (Samsung pay and all) with my Pixel (original).

It's compatible with my Pixel (original). Samsung has a Gear app on the Play store that you download to your phone, and a plug in for Samsung Pay that you also download to your phone so you can utilize the wonders of MFC payments. I get a lot of weird looks from cashiers as they try and tell me that they don't accept contact-less payments. The reader beeps and my payment is accepted.

I have noticed my phone phone battery life is effected, and am still trying to find the right balance of when to be connected and when not to be to minimize the need for charging my phone. I can get a solid 2 days out of the watch though, but normally charge at night anyway.
