There are two versions of the watch which isn't clearly indicated. The default one is Bluetooth and wifi only. The other (with AT&T specified in the item name) has the ability to have its own data plan through AT&T. Unless you really need a smartwatch that calls/texts people without a phone nearby, just get the Bluetooth smartwatch. The Bluetooth version can call or text by being tethered to your phone.
