I'm not sure the gear watch is compatible. I am almost certain i read the gear s was compatible to a certain point with apple products. Some features, they say, may not be functional after a sync. You would have to read and do your own homework. I on the other hand just went ahead and bought the most technologically advanced watch and phone combination known to man kind as of may19, 2019. THE SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 9, and the SAMSUNG GEAR S3:Phone and watch problems solved, is what the universe says when you ask to compare them with ANYTHING ....

I was a long time Fitbit user myself and the data from Fitbit that was synced into MyFitnessPal didn't get lost. The app still shows Fitbit as a connected device as it doesn't connect directly to the Samsung Watch.
