• The post above by Luisecas is incorrect. The descriptions reversed. Waterproof is sealed and supposed to keep water out up to whatever depth is specified. Water Resistant is designed to keep the water out for short period of times and probably under no water pressure.

• What ratings to look for when selecting a watch for swimming: 10 ATM: 100 meters/330 feet = Swimming and snorkeling is OK. 20 ATM: 200 meters/660 feet = High-impact water sports and recreational diving.

• I have one and works excellent during my swimming class. According to the experts the difference: Waterproof watches cannot take Any pressure but they're sealed enough to survive a shower. Water Resistant Watches are sealed to witstand some pressure.
