“As far as I can tell I got a genuine Samsung drive. But Samsung Magician says it isn't supported - "Best Buy" shows up as the listed manufacturer in Magician. How can I get Samsung Magician to recognize that this is a Samsung drive?”

You may have to reformat in Disk Management. Since it is refurbished Best Buy may have used their software to wipe it after use. Also your Bios settings could be wrong. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.So it turns out this was because I had it in an external Insignia brand case. Once I put it in the slot in my laptop, everything worked great without having to mess around!
