Is there a 5 year manufacturer warranty on this? null

I've never heard of any manufacturer starting their warranties from manufacturer date of unit. Warranty begins with date on receipt. That's half the reason you need your purchase receipt for RMA

In my experience, you will have balance of warranty from first date of purchase.

The warranty is five years from the mfr. date. Register it on the Samsung website and you'll see how much warranty is remaining.
