Does this unit have the ability to control the "center channel" volume independently from the front and rear speakers? I am having trouble with hearing in the voice range so need it to be a little louder that background sounds and special effects. null

Yes, you can independently control the channels.

If you press the gear icon on the remote you can adjust front center, front side, front top. I use the surround mode and had to adjust all the channels just right too. I would also suggest using the Standard/Smart audio modes to see if that sounds better to you, they feel a lot more center heavy to me.
