A:Answer Hello, front/rear firing as rubber pads are on the bottom. As far as I know, bass is non-directional so you could apply some felt/rubber buttons and place on its side if you like. It has a speaker with a mesh cover on the front, and an open tube/ port on the back where the power cord comes out, so I’d place it on its side with the sub and port sides facing parallel to the floor instead of the sub, or port facing the floor. So I’d say you could stand it up conventionally, or place it on its side if needed to tuck it under something, it’ll work great either way. Hope this helps, and have a great day, Dan
