• Optical is Better. Way better cause with Bluetooth, you have to turn the tv and soundbar separately on. Plus it has more bass and when you have the optical cord plugged you are in control of the system. It makes it sound like a theater in the house

• I use the S/PDIF optical and it work well. I personally don't like HDMI for sound anyway. Just a personal preference.
