  • QuestionRear speakers do not connect to Bluetooth. Blue light flashes. Do I have the unit set up correctly?

    Asked by Jeff.

    • Answer Hi Jeff, When powered on for the first time, the rear speakers should automatically connect wirelessly. If the auto-connection process fails, you can try manually connecting the rears to the soundbar. To set up the wireless rear speaker kit included with the soundbar, press and hold the ID set button on the back of the rear speakers for at least 5 seconds or until the blue light starts blinking. Turn off your soundbar and press the Up button on the remote for 5 seconds. The ID SET message will appear on the soundbar for a short time and then disappear. After the ID SET process, the soundbar power is automatically turned on. The LINK LED indicator stops blinking and glows a solid blue when a connection is established between the soundbar and the rear speakers. If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. • QuestionI have a built in HT system. I have Klipsch fronts, center and Sub. Rears are in the ceiling, down firing. I run 5.1 on a Denon AVR X3700H. Have a new S95F. Would this be an enhancement for ATMOS? I could put the rears on stands. Or, am I cray cray?

    Asked by RubberToe.

    • Answer Hello RubberToe! Adding the HW-Q990D Soundbar with your S95F TV will enhance your ATMOS experience by both the Soundbar and TV speakers working together with Samsung's Q-Symphony feature. However, you cannot have audio play from your receiver and soundbar at the same time. ~ Samsung Solutions

  • QuestionDo you have a diagram of dimensions for speaker placement for optimum surround sound? For instance, my living room is 18'x18' and 12' high ceiling. Is there an optimum speaker placement to create the best atmosphere for surround sound?

    Asked by Speakers.

    • Answer Hi Speakers, For the HW-Q990D Samsung Soundbar, we recommend that you place it in a room with ceilings no higher than 14 feet for the best possible experience when playing Dolby Atmos content. You will want to keep the subwoofer on the floor; we do recommend positioning it a few inches away from the front wall of the room where your soundbar is located, but the precise location will ultimately depend on what provides you with the best bass experience. Regarding the soundbar itself, placing it under the TV, facing towards where you sit, and having the rear speakers behind the sitting area would be the optimal placement. ~Samsung Solutions

  • QuestionCan you turn on and off front speakers and rear speakers as well as subwoofer?

    Asked by Bopp.

    • Answer Hi BB1971! You can adjust the HW-Q990D’s front, rear, and subwoofer channels, but they cannot be fully turned on or off individually. Using the Sound Control and CH Level settings, you can raise or lower the volume of each speaker group, including the subwoofer. Also, with “Private Rear Sound” mode, it allows audio to come only from the rear speakers, but this mode disables the front speakers and the subwoofer at the same time. Outside of that mode, the soundbar does not offer a full on/off toggle for individual speakers. ~ Samsung Solutions
