Hi Tony! The HW-S50A is a great compact soundbar solution to improve the audio of your TV speakers. Samsung features a wide range of soundbar options each with their own set of specs and features. Some include wireless surround speakers to improve the surround sound performance, while others will include a wireless subwoofer to increase the bass. Should you wish to improve the audio experience of the S50A, you can purchase the wireless rear speaker kit or subwoofer separate. ^Tim

Please try again later.If you are unhappy with the Sony internal TV speakers then, yes, this would be an excellent alternative as long as you are only looking for a stand alone speaker. If you would want to integrate it into an existing surround sound system - as a center channel dialogue speaker controlled by an A/V receiver - then it won`t work. You'll have to purchase a separate kit sold by Samsung that consists of rear surround speakers and a subwoofer.
