First thing to know about this mount is that its a low profile design . So make sure you have the clearance to use this . To answer your question Yes it will for for standard studs . This design is very forgiving with room to fit . Unlike standard wall mounts this will not allow you to slide your TV side to side once mounted so make sure its centered. I used this with a Q 90 Samsung 65 and it works great . I hope this was useful .
