“My monitor occasionally flashes an image that looks like a small compressed distortion of the desktop. Flashes a few times per hour usually in the lower left part of the screen. Flash is very brief and then image is gone. How to stop it from happening?”

Kinda hatd to understand what the problem is by the description given, but I would start with checking the hdmi or dp cable you are running ks adequate. Check your refresh rate settings on the monitor, and pc. Im running my g9 off a 4070ti and havent had any issues. I have however had flicker issues with the g5 hooked up to my Laptop and it was the cable and settings.
