The suction on this is great and would do a great job of picking up the cat litter off hardwood. As far as the rug goes, this would react the same as normal vacuums and try to pick it up like long hair

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The fringes might be a problem. It's a vacuum, like any other, in the sense that its brushes will catch and suck them up. It does have tangle sensors, however, that will keep any immediate damage from occurring. Over time, however, the fringe will likely get worn down and threadbare because of excessive vacuuming. But the same would happen with a manual vacuum anyway, if you weren't careful.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.All vacuum robots and even manual, regular vacuums with a powerhead brush can have problems with fringes on carpets. They can get pulled into the brush. You might tuck the fringes under the rug, pull up the rug or whatever. Some people fasten the fringes down somehow. They really are a special problem and it depends exactly one what type of fringe.
