“I bought this dishwasher last year and had it installed in May. It worked great at first but recently the water has not heated up and dishes have not dried. The technician told me I have to run the hot water for 5-10 minutes before using. Is this correct”

• My hot water takes a good 2 minutes to arrive at my sink (thus dishwasher) this time of year when it's cold out. Five or ten minutes seems a bit long to accomplish that. I make sure there's hot water running from the tap before turning on the DW.
