The moment the camera detects motion or noise it sends an alert to your phone. This allows you to view the video feed and start recording almost immediately. I have tested my camera several times and the alert is almost immediate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can setup the camera to take pictures and then have those pictures automatically saved to Google Photos in the cloud. So even if the camera was taken, the would be photographs of the thief in the cloud.
