I got this for our upcoming baby so that we could keep tabs even if we were away from the home. This is a great camera. It has excellent video quality both day and night. It is packed full of features and the the app for the iPhone is great. I highly recommend this model.
Pros:
-Great Quality
-Motion Detection is great, and you can customize an area on the screen to detect motion, so no cars driving by alerting you.
-Free app is packed full of features. Music, Pre-record audio bits, 2 way communication
-Alerts upload photos of the event to google drive
Cons:
-Audio alerts are a bit sensitive
-Motion alerts can be triggered by time change (shadows or loss of light)
-Awkward size, it is kind of top heavy and wants to topple on occasion if not mounted down.

This is, what I expect will be my final Samsung SmartCam HD Pro Wireless High-Definition Security Camera purchase. Final, not because the cameras have issues, but 'final', in that I have each of these covering the desired area of my home.
I chose to upgrade to these 'fixed position' Samsung's SmartCam HD after my years of experience using 'articulated' Foscam branded cameras. While the Foscams worked well enough, I found that their field of view was too narrow, and while the price was far less, I found that my failure rate of Foscam product to be rather high.
This is not the case with the Samsung SmartCam HD Pro Wireless High-Definition Security Cameras.
The wide field of view for these cameras eliminates the need to have a camera that I can remotely pan or tilt. The clarity of the images is top notch, and while the cameras are not rated for use out of doors (as was my previous camera), I have managed to mount one, outside, deep underneath the overhang of my front porch.
I find the SmartCam HD Pro Wireless High-Definition Security Camera to be superior in almost every way, with few exceptions.
I have no simple way to remotely access, and offload captured images or video. To do this, I must physically remove the MicroSD card from the camera, changing the alignment in the process of doing so. I have begun to research to see if anyone has discovered a way to FTP into the camera, so that content may be copied off and archived.
In addition to this, the power cable is fairly short for most placements. An optional power extension cable would be fantastic!
Other than that, these are a major step up. I have coverage over my entire front porch, garage, basement, and yard/patio, and I have it all integrated nicely into SmartThings.

I've purchased many wifi camera and the one thing I disliked the most was the delay. I liked watching exactly as things happened. The second was how complicated they were to connect to wifi. This camera has no delay, amazing night vision with great picture quality and connecting to the wifi was a breeze. It even comes with a cable to connect directly to the modem if you can't over WiFi. I highly recommend this monitor. I have peace of mind every day and night when I'm away from home or when my babies are sleeping in their room. Another bonus is the wide angel. I can see the ENTIRE room

Samsung - SmartThings Home Monitoring Kit has a number of modules you can expand the system with, such as this SmartCam HD Pro, for greater security. These all work flawlessly with the overall basic system. This camera has a wide range of features, great tech support and many apps and scripts you can use to configure it specifically for your needs.

I purchased this camera 2 weeks ago prior to a vacation. I did about 4 days of testing and adjusting sensitively of motion and sound detection. Once I thought I had the setting where I needed them, I left on vacation. There were a lot of pros and cons...but mainly cons because of the two live-in critters in my home. (Odie and Sheldon - Dog and Cat). Let's get started...
Day 1:
-PRO: Motion and sound detection is on and zones set. 1st Alert goes off when Doggy Day Care comes to pick up pup for the day. Works great.
-CON: Two zones are set for motion detection well above areas where animals cannot trigger detection. Everytime cat walks into room...push notification is sent to phone. Probably 15 times that day.
-PRO: Detection triggered when dog returns home w/ Doggy Day Care.
-CON: Had to turn off push notifications once dog returned home because he was setting them off every 5 minutes (or less).
-PRO: Was able to see video recordings easily from phone. Crisp and clear.
Day 2 - 7:
-CON/PRO: Lost connectivity with camera for about an hour on day 2. Not sure why, but connection recovered.
-CON: Had to change push notification when dog left for the day. Motion and sound detection was just to sensitive for animals and zone settings just didn't seem to work correctly.
-PRO: Video recordings for the entire week (in non-HD) mode barely put a dent into my 64gb memory card.
MISC:
PROS:
-Ability to use multiple cameras on one app.
-Great resolution
-Two way ability to talk via phone to camera worked great.
CONS:
-No battery backup
-Not IFTTT
-Not compatible with other systems (Home automation types).
-Not very inconspicuous.
-App was a bit confusing at 1st.
-Had to create a Google+ account to be able to view photos over the net while away from home.
-Night vision is so so.
Overall, if I didn't have pets, I would have rated this camera a 4 star. A 5 star rating would only have happened if camera was IFTTT compatible and able to work with other home automation hubs like SmartThings, Insteon, Nest, etc. Pricing was average for ability. They really need to work on software and recognition in order for this device to be for successful.

Smart cam does a lot and I'm very happy with it. The only isssue with it was when I used the SD card. I ended up downloading a Smart Cam app that solved the problem. Would be nice if it all worked smoothly through the Samsung Smart Things app. See the picture of the two apps needed to work the Smart Cam with the SD card properly.

Upgraded to this HD camera and it is well worth it. HD picture quality is very good, even in low light levels (closed garage). Alerts can be triggered by motion or SOUND. Setup was easy. Viewing on my iPhone is excellent, but more set-up options are available when logged in from a computer. Wireless, so you can set it up anywhere your Wi-Fi can reach.

The Smartcam has been generally very great. We decided to buy it after we got a defective smoke detector which would trigger at intervals for no discernible reason and we were worried that it would go off when we were at work and give the dogs a heart attack or something. So we set it up so that the camera would email us if it detected any loud noises and if we got those we could check the live stream to see if we could hear a smoke detector. We can set it up so it will only alarm on certain days of the week and only during certain hours on certain days, set up windows of interest in the screen for motion sensing, and a lot of other very useful features.
The one issue we've had with it is if our home WiFi happens to go down for whatever reason, and we have to reboot the wireless router, then the camera still doesn't connect even when the WiFi is turned on again even though the WiFi has the same password as before.
This is annoying for two reasons:
1. Since the only way to set up the camera is over the network, you can't actually tell it to connect to the WiFi again unless you plug it into the router with a cord. Since the router's on the other end of the house that means moving the camera from its mounting position and then having to re-set it all back up again. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard for the camera to try to reconnect with previously entered WiFi information--it's not that the camera loses memory, it keeps all the other settings, just drops the WiFi info.
2. This unfortunately limits its use as a dependable way to check on your house if you're on vacation or other extended absence, because the camera might not connect for no reason you'll be able to discern.

For the price you pay you get an excellent camera, but a mediocre service from Samsung. The only way to access the camera is by signing on with a new account at www.samsungsmartcam.com. You can access the camera interface if you find the assigned DHCP IP address on your router, but this interface is minimal and don't let you do much. Here is a description of the different experience I have:
On a Windows Desktop.
The SmartCam web site uses a browser plugin. This plugin as of today only works on Internet Explorer or Firefox. It no longer works on Google Chrome as of September 1, 2015.
On a Mac
Pluging works with Safari.
On My iPad
The app keep asking you for the password even if you checked to remember the camera password.
On Android
The apps also keep asking for password. But the 8/21/2015 update made it worst as now the Android App eats up all my battery all the time.
Overall.
Notification on Android works sometimes.
Notification on iPad comes in late.
In neither, Desktop, Mac, Android or iOS you can watch the video on the Events page. You always need to go to the Playback tab to watch the videos.
On Android phone it always connect in Relay Mode even if you have high speed LTE.
If you are planning on buying this camera, the most useful way to access it is through a computer desktop. iOS and Android apps leave a lot to be desired.

This camera is very good for its purpose "when it's working properly." When I first got this device it was the device I had been waiting for to come out. It worked so good sending me alerts within seconds after a motion trigger. The motion detection was real good working from a good distance when entering the room. The picture quality was acceptable , not quite the 1080p as advertised but clear close up. The low rating is due to the fact that the device started sending my alerts later and later after the motion trigger and Samsung support was of no help. The camera became useless as it would notify me hours or even the next day after a motion detection. They finally did a "system upgrade" and it's been working very good since.

I use Samsung Smartthings for home monitoring and already had two of these cameras monitoring our property under construction. While not cheap this camera integrate nicely with Smartthings Hub. The video clarity is second to none (including in the dark) and it supports both cloud and local microSD memory storage. What I like about this camera is that it also offers two way audio, so it's nice to scare at neighborhood kitties and bunnies that like to their "business" on the front porch...lol - fyi, the camera is not weather proof and I set mine up under a covered area. In addition, you can also set motion detect based on the viewing area - and you can setup multiple areas/zones. The camera also has audio detection - i.e. if an intruder breaks your window this camera will prompt an alert to you. The iOS app is fairly userfriendly - but certain functionalities are a bit difficult to navigate to.

The camera seems to do what it is billed for - watch the intended area. It has a relatively clear picture and it has a pretty good wide view.
A couple of negatives...it is kind of BIG and BULKY, thus making it kind of hard to hide. It also doesn't have a very clear night vision, meaning unless someone is close to it they would be virtually unidentifiable from the quality of video.

Easy to install and great video quality. I use it as a baby monitor and the details and clarity you see during night vision is amazing. If you have good internet service that works properly and doesn't lose connection then the camera should work fine. You can record on a micro sd card without paying monthly fees like some other cameras that offer their cloud service. Price is a little high but worth it to see my baby daughter at night knowing she is safe and sound.

Overall this is a great camera for business or a home. I personally use it for a business and its great. Set up is easy..It covers an area of what my other 3 cameras covered before. Quality is great...you can zoom in on live feeds.. audio output on the camera mike is amazing, you can hear everything. One thing that it really lacks is the connection to the camera from an outside connection such as you LTE or home wifi. It takes forever to connect and when it does it looses it really quickly. They need to massive update on the app on this part. Also the sound detection and motion detection are great but you should be able to set up a time frame where you want those going off all the time while I'm sleeping. The storage option is great because i would like to pay $200 dollar for the camera and then to access my recording pay for a cloud service. Overall the app needs to updated immediately.

Great home security camera/baby monitor

We initially purchased this camera as a baby monitor as we were expecting our first child. Before our child was born however, we used this as a home security monitor outside our home. The quality is amazing! I love the fact that you can set up the camera to send notifications to your phone whenever motion or audio is detected. You can set the sensitivity of both as well as set the location on the screen where the motion detection will go off. The camera will record in 30 second increments once audio or video is detected. You can also view in real time from your phone or computer. You do need to have it connected to an outlet however (which we had to run a extension cord outside) & it does have to be connected to wifi. This product does not need a subscription like other home security systems. The only issue I had with this product was the fact that it does not have an internal storage system so you will have to purchase a micro sd card. Besides that, I would definitely recommend this product for home security and/or a baby monitor.

The picture quality is good; the motion response time is satisfactory; the ease of set up is good. I especially am surprised and pleased at the Infra red capability. The photo is black and white, but all images are easily discernible. Because of the quality and ease of use, I bought two of them, one for the upstairs and one for my downstairs. I am considering another one to be placed at a yet to be determined area.

I actually have two of these because I like the picture so much. This camera is insanely light-weight and the picture is really good. Not excellent, but better then the other DLink Pan and Tilt "HD" camera I bought. That one didn't look HD at all. It takes a little tweaking to get it properly configured for your wireless network and you have to sign up through Samsung. However, once I did I didn't have to go through Samsung's site to view the video as I have it hooked up to my NAS. Most people will probably use Samsung's app/site to view video. I would watch a setup video before you buy to see how you will be accessing the video. That way you can tell if it will work the way you want it to.

I decided to give this camera a try after a recommendation from a friend. Glad I chose this because it was easy to install and connect on my wireless home network. The video and audio is great, even in the dark with it's IR sensors. The specifications say it'll take up to a 32gb micro sd card but I am using a 64gb with no issues. The iOS app is a bit lagging but great for checking in when away from home. The PC/MAC site is a much better view with no lag. Definitely recommend this surveillance system for anyone needing a quick and easy install and use.
