I purchased a new Samsung tv, Samsung sound bar and Samsung 4K player at the same time. The sound bar connected to the tv ARC port via hdmi. The blue ray/4K ultra player connect via hdmi. So, anything the tv plays is automatically connected and controlled thru the tv. I believe this would be the same for almost any setup, as long as you’re connected from tv to sound bar.
