There could be a couple of reasons that this is happening. The first and most important is to go into the settings of the player and check the HDMI port settings to be sure that it is set for 4K instead of 1080. I had to do that on mine and it works great! Second, use a cable that is at least HDMI 1.4 or higher so it will pass the much higher resolution. Best of luck!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.So, I changed the player settings from auto to 2160p and still on the TV screen the info shows 1080p. Tomorrow I'll buy an HDMI cable for 4k support to see if that fixes the problem.
