• Sure you can . It can store a lot of files being a 1TB ssd and it’s pretty fast for a small storage drive .

• Yes, you can. I put everything on the SSD to free up room on my Surface Pro. Just drag and drop. It's just a better external hard drive because there's no moving parts to wear out, HENCE the name, Solid State Drive (SSD). Hope this helps.
