I am using one on a 2019 iMac 27" (w/256GB SDD internal) as an external 1TB for storage and on a 2017 iMac 21.5" as an external SSD boot disk in lieu of the 1TB internal Fusion. Both are running Catalina. No problems with either.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The T7 2TB External SSD worked fine with my late 2013 27" iMac that is running Catalina. I had no issues connecting, the drive must be reformatted to work which your Mac CAN do in 2 clicks and 2 minutes. Increased my disk speed exponentially, although I would recommend T5 1TB if you're not using a lot of memory like me (T5 2TB is difficult to get your hands on). If I can run with it on a 2013, later models definitely can. Although this answer is year old, I'm hoping other people will see this and not hesitate with the other reviews that are saying no. Please watch youtube videos on how to format external SSDs. There is a really good one with a girl doing it with a T5, the process is identical.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Was not compatible with my 2018 mac mini, so my answer would be "no".
