• Yes. Remember to eject it properly from the computer it's plugged into. If you are transferring between Mac and Windows or Linux it needs to be formatted in in a way that all the systems support (usually ExFAT or FAT32).

• Yes, it's fast, connect it to the computer, copy the data from it's hard drive to this external drive. Move this external drive to the other computer and copy the data to it's hard drive.
