It can be partitioned just like a regular hard drive. There are a couple of file formats that it didn't like/offer but that was merely a matter of choice
Yes you can - just have to partition the hard drive.
If you plan on using it just for Xbox One X, you will have to format it to work with only Xbox. Note 8, Laptop, Photos, Videos & Music will all work just fine with each other.
