I copied a large number of files of all varieties, maybe 2 or 3 gigs, but not games. I went to get a cup of coffee and it was done when I came back. I would think that games files would copy just as fast. My files included audio books and photos. What ever that's worth.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That's exactly what my daughter uses it for. She has all her steam games saved on it so as not to use all her internal space on her laptop. Super easy, works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This depends on how fast your USB bus is. You can use this for backing up games. But playing graphic intense game from it may be variable as the data has to travel via USB which is a bottleneck instead of a drive that can be inserted into a SATA/mSATA/PCIe connector. They do not dampen the read/write speeds. Internal SSDs will always be faster but if the scenario calls for on-the-go gaming it can get the job done for most cases.
