“I want to backup my computer to the external SSD. I have an ethernet cable plugged into the back of my router and runs 50' to a fireproof cabinet. I want to store the SSD there but need to convert the ethernet to a male Type C connect to the SSD. Do able?”

This drive is not a NAS drive. It won’t work that way.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Usb over Ethernet is a thing adapter will need to go on both ends, and it would plug into the usb slot on your computer. Since this drive is bus powered though I’m not sure it will power it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'd recommend you create a little homebrew NAS with a wired router inside the enclosure with the external drive plugged into its USB port. Heat might become an issue inside the enclosure, so plan and configure accordingly.
