“Would this be a good choice to back up data on a daily basis? My computer only has USB 2.0 ports. I have had two HDDs fail in the last three years and am assuming a SSD would be more reliable in that regard. Is that a reasonable expectation?”

• you can add a compatible port to your computer and yes it is safe to backup as well as store data on this drive, I do that all the time
