• You're able to use it as a storage on your series x to save your games onto it but you're not able to play games directly off of it. You'll have to transfer the game file to your series x before you're able to play it.

• Yes, but only for backwards compatible games and storage. If the game is optimized for Series X|S then it’ll have to be on the internal SSD to play.
