The sound is not as loud as the front sound bar, but there was someone that has made the rear sound a lot better by connecting the rear speakers to a small amplifier so it will make it louder. From the speaker out port of the swa-8500 connect to input of amplifier then output of amplifier to speaker. They used Pyle PCA2 amplifier to really boost the sound. Look up their video on YouTube. I'm kinda disappointed with the rear speakers. I can only hear the rear ones when I get right next to it.
