It depends on the soundbar that you have and or are getting. 8500's are compatible with the 550 soundbar. I don't remember if they are compatible with any others. The 9000's are compatible with 650 and the 750 soundbars. I've had both 8000's and 9500's and I liked them both very much. It mostly depends on the soundbar you want to use.
