Do you need an app in order this to work null

The iXpand Drive App DOES NOT WORK with this 256GB iXpand Phone Drive Luxe for iPhone. SanDisk knows it doesn't work, but I bought it because the "SanDisk Team" answers questions like this by saying it does work. They're wrong.
