Hi Kevin, thank you for reaching out to us. Please know that the MagSafe on the SanDisk Creator Phone SSD is only for magnetic attachment, not for data transfer. Files are transferred through the USB-C connection, so the drive needs to be plugged in to work. Because the phone’s USB-C port handles both power and data, you can’t charge via USB-C and transfer files at the same time using the drive alone.
