• For a full charge, it will take approximately three hours. I would suggest the unit be fully charged before attempting to download music

• I'm not sure how long it takes to fully charge, but I can say I was putting music on it pretty much right out of the box. It was charging while I put music on it and then just started using it after. Probably wasn't fully charged but it lasted a long time even on the charge I gave it doing that. I hope that helps
