There should have been a little manual that came with the item. Other than that, go to the link I provided to get other help with your SanDisk. http://www.sandisk.com/

It was a bit frustrating because they are limited, but when I went to the website it gave me more detailed instructions and I was finally able to figure out how to set up the playlists for this unit. Sorry I do not have the pamphlet that came with this unit any longer.
