Absolutely, that is exactly what I am doing with two 16GB drives, alternating each month between the two.

You can backup your files to it, but it is kind of small by todays standards. This would be better for something temporary, and you should probably back up your files in the cloud.

Usually 16 GB is Minimum required image a clean laptop.

Absolutely. But I wouldn't rely on this alone. You should consider backing up at least 2 places in case one backup fails or goes missing.

You would likely need a larger storage device to use for a computer backup. I recommend getting an external hard drive. Maybe a 500gb.

Only if you wish to back up a few files. 16 GB is NOT enough to make a complete backup of your entire laptop files. But if you only want to back up photos, music, documents, etc. Yes but as a backup I recommend at least 32 GB.
