• Re-writable. You can add or delete files at any time. Nothing is permanent on flash drives.

• It is a thumb drive, it is more or less a smaller capacity hard drive in a super compact package. You can store whatever information on it that you want, and move/delete/replace data as many times as you want.

• I copy files to it into custom created directories to share photos/ tranport to the local camera store and for prints/enlargments. When done erase the files and do it all over again. Great for sharing files with computers not on the same network/lack of ability to email large files. Enjoy,

• All USB's are rewritable. No, there isn't a function where you set as read-only; thats done on the software side if you decide to total encrypt or allow "guest" users to only copy down but not mess with the contents.
