• No Wi-Fi or other internet or cellular connection is needed. That’s not how the SanDisk dual-port thumb drive works. As long as the photos taken on your trip are PHYSICALLY on your Apple or Android device sitting in the PHOTOS folder, you can easily back up all of them onto the SanDisk drive by choosing BACK UP AND RESTORE from the main iXPand drive home page, and then BACKUP & RESTORE PHOTO LIBRARY.

• No, you will not need need Wi-Fi/ Mobile Data in order to store photos from your iPhone to this iXpand Drive as the photos get stored offline to this iXpand Drive and no where on the internet.
