If it is the non Retina 2012 Macbook Pro models (9,1 or 9,2) that had a HDD It should work if you are replacing the original internal HDD that uses SATA with the SSD. You will need software like CCC to migrate the MacOS partition as well as Winclone if you are migrating the Bootcamp installation. At a minimum you will need a SATA to USB adapter or enclosure so that you can migrate the partitions. Also keep in mind that depending on the version of MacOS that you are running you might need to have external TRIM support for the SSD drive. If you are running Yosemite or more recent versions of MacOS then you can enable TRIM support for 3rd party SSD drives directly via the OS. You can search online for the tutorials.
