Yes, you can use laptop SSD’s in desktops. The only difference is the drive will be a lot smaller and a lot thinner. Most desktops have mounting hole on the full size hard drive cages, but it it doesn’t you can easily and cheaply pick up an 2.5in to 3.5in hard drive cage to securely fit the drive into your desktop. If you really wanted to get creative you can use some strong double sided tape to hold the drive if you don’t have the items previously said.
I would recommend:

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it will work. Provided that your desktop has the available sata power and data connectors. I would suggest buying a ssd adapter tray or in my case, i used velcro tape to secure the drive to hard drive cage.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the SD card you likely used in your camera is the working "guts" of all SSD. For convenience, this item has a plastic dummy-shell (mostly filled with air) that's drilled with eight 2milli-Meter screw holes exactly where a vintage "laptop 2-1/2 inch" "Spinner" C: drive has them. Look at the diagrams, the upgrade instructions for your desktop...the place where a 2.5" Hard drive is attached. matching size M3-5mm screws sometimes packed with, otherwise only a few cents each.
