• I asked this myself recently and depending on your software and resolution, it is estimated to be 1GB per hr of video. This should give you a baseline. If you have multiple videos, may want to look at NAS it larger external drives. I’m converting from VHS to DVD and backing up to flash and external drives

• Use it for storage of 32 gigs might seem a lot, but adding cd files could take up space pronto. USBs are not meant for running videos and such. I use my USB sticks for moving files. Don't forget to eject from file explorer or you might lose data or even make the stick inoperable.
