There should be no reason that it is not compatible BUT you will most likely need a SSD bracket to adjust to the smaller size drive that you will be installing

You may also want to ensure that you have the proper power connector (or adapter) for your power supply line, as it is thinner. But again, if your PC is only about 5 yrs old it will probably have that. One last consideration is whether or not you are _adding_ this as another drive or replacing an existing drive. If you are adding, you'll want to ensure you have an extra 6 gbp/s sata cable and a sata power connector from your power supply.
