Yes If your Dad's desktop hard drive uses SATA this will work.

Yes, but you will need a 2.5" to 3.5" mounting bracket. 120gb is really small. This is either a super old computer, or already has an ssd, but it's a small one. If it is old just get a new computer.

Yes if you have an SATA drive cable connection. That's exactly how I used it.

Yes but you may need to use an adapter to hold it in place where the old drive was.
