This drive will work with that laptop, the factory laptop drive has a SATA interface and so does this SSD drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A dual core processor puts you right in the middle of the IDE era and SATA migration... So you would first need to determine whether your model uses a SATA interfacing drive or IDE (IDE will be called different things by different manufacturers, but if it is SATA it will say it SATA). Dell provides technical support documentation for almost all the computers they have sold over the years.. Go to Dell's website and under support look up your model of laptop.. check the specifications for the drive type or interface, and go from there.. The actual replacement process is, and can be, a bit more involved than some people want to attempt themselves.

It should be, as SATA has been the industry standard for the last 15+ years. (Since I didn't catch the approx year/age of your laptop, I'll include the following) Industry standard doesn't mean that OEMs didn't use up existing stock before making the switch to SATA. If your laptop is more than 10 years old, Dell has a handy little tool on their website which will allow you to check before purchasing. This tool will tell you everything you need to know about your laptop. Bestbuy answer guidelines frown on me posting links, so.... go to dell's website, select menu, support, view all support. You will then have the option to input your model number, which will give you the specs for your computer. If your laptop is less than 10 years old, I'm almost positive you're good to go.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This SSD drive may or may not fit your Dell Inspiron 15 depending on which sub-model you have. If your laptop currently has a spinning hard drive then this will work. If your laptop has a similar type of SSD it may work. Many laptops now have primary SSD drives that are more of a circuit board with memory chips than what most people would consider a Hard Disk Drive or Solid State Drive of this size and shape. You would have to look at your Dell support tag number on the Dell support website to see what type of drive you currently have and then purchase appropriately. I know if you are not a Technology Nerd you may not realize the difference but the physical size and connection type are now a factor in these comparisons and since I don't know your exact current configuration all I can do is point you to the tools I would use in making this determination. I've attached a photo of a current state of the art SSD drive for comparison
