The number of songs it can store is dependant on the amount of compression used when creating that song. Yes, memory cards do wear out. Flash memory has a limited number of changes that can he made to it before it is rendered unusable. The specific number of changes is manufacturer specific. Also flash memory is sensitive to cold weather.
