Class 10 is technically the same as U1... U3 is faster ultra fast 3 A lot of cheaper cards are 2through 6 class... U1 is fast enough For stereo 1080p HD recording. Most hd dslr cameras inly allow 20 minutes of continuous filming

You need to find the minimum required data transfer rate for the HD device you are using, and that will determine which card to go with. A rule of thumb, the faster the data transfer rate, the more expensive the card is. So make sure you don't go overboard and spend too much money on a card that is faster than you need.
