Yes! I have 3 HDMI cables and an optical cable running through the walls.

Yes, you can run more than one cord. We installed our power cord and multiple HDMI cords. There is room for them.

Yes. Have already done so with my first installation. Where possible, try to eliminate certain speaker wires by using HDMI from A/V receiver. If no A/V, normal speaker wires or digital optical audio cable to speakers or soundbar.
