That’s how I have mine set up. That part worked perfectly and the Best Buy installer is the one who installed this so no worries if it was done to standard.

This mount, when fully recessed, sits 1.86" from the wall. Additionally the spacing on the wall plate is a good 35" wide and 9" tall so if your box is within those dimensions you should be good to go!
