My 55 inch Sony is on a rectangular cabinet set out from the wall. It is perfectly stable set an inch from the front edge of the cabinet with its base hanging over the back an inch. The Sanus base needs a full 26.5 inches from one side of the cabinet to the other; it is 16.5 inches from front to back.
